Screen Hardware and Settings:

Your computer has a screen (the monitor) and also a video printed circuit board that controls all images on your screen.  In today's market, there are different monitors and video boards that can be used in your computer and not all will work the same.  Some will affect your image size, colors, sharpness, and etc.  Even though two exactly the same looking computers sit side by side, they can show an image completely different.  This may be due to the different hardware (screen and video board) used in each, or the screen resolution in each is set differently.

Computers have many specifications, but the specification that affects the size of the image on the screen is referred to as the screen resolution.   From one computer to the next these resolution settings can be different.  The lower the screen resolution the larger the image appears on your screen.  Some screen resolution available today are 640 X 480, 800 X 600, 1024 X 768, 1152 X 864, 1280 X 1024, and 1600 X 1200 just to name a few.  The resolution currently being used the most on the internet is 800 X 600.  This web site was designed around the 800 X 600 resolution.  If your computer is set for a lower resolution it will exhibit a much larger image on your screen.  Likewise, a computer with larger resolution settings will exhibit smaller images.

When viewing the various swatches on you screen you should keep in mind that what you are looking at is a 4-inch swatch that has been automatically resized by your computer depending on the hardware and/or resolution settings.
